Fan Free Clinic (FFC) is pleased to announce a commitment from the Richmond Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for year 2 of its Pink Ticket Project. Comprised of off-site education and outreach initiatives as well as on-site, free-of-charge breast cancer screening clinics, this project aims to ensure that an increasing number of medically-underserved women throughout greater Richmond have access to timely and culturally-sensitive breast health information, resources and follow-up.

Each year, FFC provides on-site breast cancer screenings and education to approximately 1,500 female patients. We recognize, however, that many other women, for a variety of reasons, may be unable or unlikely to obtain such routine care. Reaching these women with life-saving breast health information and bringing them into a clinic setting for appropriate examination requires greater effort. With support from the Komen Foundation, we have been able to expand our current on- and off- site efforts by introducing semi-monthly breast cancer screening clinics as well as by building upon our successful outreach activities within Richmond’s more vulnerable neighborhoods. We anticipate that our initiatives will reach an estimated 1,000 women and that 125-150 of these women will receive a clinical breast exam at FFC as a result of our Pink Ticket Project.
