“Neil” is taking 11 medications and, because he is uninsured, had been attempting to pay for them out of pocket. The cost of these meds (approximately $1,100 every month) led to issues with adherence. He simply wasn’t able to afford them all. Now that Neil is enrolled in TPC, he is able to take all of his prescribed medications.
CLIENT SERVICES
Fan Free Clinic provides services through a number of programs:
The Medical Clinic – FFC’s cornerstone program – targets persons who are uninsured or underinsured.   Volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners and other licensed professionals staff the clinic, providing treatment and care to patients. Volunteer mental health practitioners assist clients with their mental health needs. Community volunteers staff the front desk and phones, lending their time and energies to special projects and programs.

While the Medical Clinic treats those who are ill, FFC’s other programs are designed to prevent disease, or otherwise keep people in good health. Case Management and other assistance (such as HOPWA) is available to people who are in danger of becoming homeless. The Food Pantry – in collaboration with the Central Virginia Food Bank – helps clients who can’t afford to purchase the food they need to stay healthy. Health Outreach programs help prevent disease (e.g., HIV/AIDS) in target populations that are especially high-risk and often hard-to-serve.
