Why Volunteer?

Volunteers have been helping FFC to build a healthier community since 1970.  FFC volunteers include physicians, nurse practitioners and social service professionals, as well as students, retirees and other community members.  By generously giving their time, volunteers are able to contribute their interests, areas of expertise and financial support to improving the quality of life for thousands of men, women and children throughout the Richmond metropolitan area.

If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers, please complete our online Volunteer Application and someone will contact you as volunteers are needed.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Medical Office Assistant - Greet patients, answer medical reception lines, schedule follow up appointments and discharge patients. Volunteers who can provide 3-4 hour shifts are preferred.
  • Clinic Assistant - Volunteers looking for hands-on medical experience can get it here. Volunteers check-in patients, explain policies and procedures, record vital statistics and assist MD/NP during examinations. Volunteers who can provide 3-4 hour shifts are preferred.

Health Outreach

  • Speakers Bureau - Provide educational programming on safer sex, STDs and HIV/AIDS prevention to people in the community. This also includes attending health fairs in the central Virginia area.

  • Office Assistant - Assist administrative staff with a variety of tasks including computer work, filing, building maintenance and special projects.
  • Miscellaneous - If you have a particular skill (data entry, fundraising, painting, handy work...) and would like to donate some time to FFC, please let us know!
