Medical Clinic
Medical Office Assistant: Volunteers will greet patients, answer medical reception lines, schedule follow up appointments and discharge patients. Volunteers who can provide 3-4 hour shifts are preferred.
Clinical Assistant: Volunteers looking for hands on medical experience can get it here. Volunteers check-in patients, explain policies and procedures, take vital statistics, and assist MD/NP during examinations. Volunteers who can provide 3-4 hour shifts are preferred.
Health Outreach
Speakers Bureau: Volunteers provide educational programming on safer sex, STD’s and HIV/ AIDS prevention to people in the community. This also includes attending Health Fairs in the Central Virginia area.
Educational Assistant: Volunteers will prepare educational materials for the AIDS Activities programs. It is a creative opportunity to design new educational tools such as games, flyers, and packets to be used in the community.
Food Pantry: Volunteers help shop for food and stock it in our food pantry. Other duties include bagging and delivering food to our clients.
Administration
Receptionist: Volunteers help all incoming callers with information about the agency, answer questions about STD’s and HIV/AIDS, make referrals, and greet clients, patients and visitors in a friendly professional manner.
Office Assistant: Volunteers assist the Administrative staff with many tasks, including computer work, filing, building maintenance, and special projects.
Miscellaneous: Everyone else!!! If you have a particular skill (data entry, fundraising, painting, handy work...) and would like to donate it, let us know.
