Join us on Saturday, May 15, 2010, for a great day of cycling while helping to raise awareness of and funds for Fan Free Clinic!
About RTP
Ride to Provide (RTP) is Fan Free Clinic’s signature annual fundraising event. All funds raised by Ride to Provide are used to support our medical clinic and community programs. As in 2008 and 2009, this year’s one-day event offers three (3) route lengths—Century (100 miles), Metric Century (62.5 miles) and a Quarter Century (25 miles)—so riders of varying levels can participate in making a difference in the lives of others.
Here’s how you can get involved in our terrific event!
- Ride in the Ride!—Sign up to ride in our Century (100 miles), Metric Century (62.5 miles) or Quarter Century (25 miles) events.
- Participate as a Virtual Rider!—Can’t picture yourself rolling out of bed on Saturday morning to ride with us? Then why not “ride” along—virtually! Sign up as a virtual rider to help raise awareness about FFC and the people we serve.
- Volunteer!—FFC can always use volunteers to staff one of our start and finish lines as well as four (4) course pit stops. Cheer riders on, hand them a much needed snack or drink, and enjoy a day outdoors with your friends. In addition, volunteers are also needed to drive/travel in SAG vehicles (“sweeps”) that slowly circle the course to assist tired riders and “sweep” them to the next pit stop. Click here to contact the ride coordinator to volunteer to help with RTP.
- Make a donation!—If you’re unable to participate as either a rider or volunteer, you can still us by help by supporting a rider (actual or virtual) with a tax-deductible donation to FFC.
Registration Fees:
- $30.00 for individual adult riders (ages 18+)
- $25.00 for individual student (college) riders
- $12.00 for individual youth riders (ages 12-17)
Each actual* participant will receive:
- Snacks/beverages at start/finish and at each pit stop location—yummy!
- SAG (sweep) vehicle support
- Ride to Provide 2010 baseball cap
- Commemorative Ride to Provide 2010 glass
* Virtual participants will receive our sincere thanks for helping to raise awareness about FFC!
Fundraising
Let’s get something perfectly clear: Ride to Provide 2010 fundraising is 100% voluntary. Really…you can just register, show up, ride your bike, and enjoy a fun time—and you’ll still get the course support and give-aways listed above.
However, if you want to fundraise . . . well, we’d be awfully grateful. And, as instituted last year, we’ve made fundraising easy and rewarding. Just email your friends and family to let them know you’re riding for Fan Free Clinic and encourage them to support your efforts! You might be surprised by how many folks are willing to help out when asked. We’ve even prepared a short sample email for you to send; look for more information in your confirmation email once you’ve registered. Individuals who raise more than $500 will be entered into a drawing for a $200 gift certificate to the Richmond-area cycling or sporting equipment store of their choice.
