Hormone Administration and Monitoring
Our vision is to engage all patients, including transgender patients seeking hormones, in primary health care at our Health Center in order to promote their physical and emotional well-being. Our goal is to meet each patient’s health care needs in a comfortable, safe, and respectful environment. To ensure a smooth transition, Fan Free Clinic has the following process for patients who identify themselves as transgender who seek hormones:
- A Financial Screening appointment (To check eligibility requirements click here)
- After the financial screening appointment a patient will schedule an intake appointment with our intake counselor, Afton Bradley. Since hormones can affect patients physically and emotionally, we want to ensure patients understand all resources Fan Free Clinic offers to support a healthy transition and obtain information about the patient important to the patient’s medical provider. This appointment also allows us to gather informed consent to administer hormones.
- After the intake appointment and informed consent are obtained a patient’s first medical appointment is scheduled. Once the medical provider feels the patient is medically ready to begin hormone treatment, they will begin to administer hormones.
