Donors

Health Brigade fills a unique role in the community by providing a full range of exceptional health care services to those who struggle for or are denied services. Over 30% of Richmonders live below the poverty level. That means, 1 in 3 of our neighbors is faced with the difficult decision of whether they buy food, pay rent or obtain medical care.

Individual donors only make up 10% of our operating budget. Government funding and other resources are becoming more and more scarce. By making a tax deductible donation to Health Brigade, you are able to allocate your tax dollars to an organization that is helping your community directly. Now, more than ever, we need your help.

Every dollar you donate becomes $8 worth of services. You matter. Can we count on your support?

Individual Gifts

You are welcome to make a monetary donation to Health Brigade at any time throughout the year. You may make your gift securely online―or, if you’d prefer, by cash or check. Checks should be made payable to Health Brigade. Our mailing address is 1010 N. Thompson St., Richmond, VA 23230. (Please do not send cash through the mail.)

Online Giving

Health Brigade uses Network for Good to securely process its online donations. This service enables us to accept most major credit cards as well as debit transactions through PayPal. You may use this online service for individual gifts as well as for recurring gifts. Click here to donate online now!

Gifts Given in Honor or Memory

Gifts have special meaning when offered “in memory of” or “in honor of” those who have touched our lives. Consider paying tribute to someone special during the holidays, on a birthday or anniversary, or in recognition of any milestone. Be sure to provide your gift recipient’s name and contact information so that we can notify them of your thoughtfulness! Click here to give a gift in honor or memory of someone special!

Matching Gifts

Many companies will match (either dollar-for-dollar or a certain percentage of) their employees’ contributions to non-profit organizations. Please check with your company’s human resources office and request a matching gift form. Simply complete the form and forward it to HB (either with your contribution or shortly after making a gift online.) HB will handle the rest!

Richmond businesses with Gift Matching programs: Altria, AT&T, Bank of America, Capital One, Carmax, Costco, Dominion, Exon, Geico, Genworth, HCAva, Hewlett Packard, Home Depot, Macys, Markel Corporation, McGuire Woods, Mckesson, Mead Westvaco, Starbucks, Supervalu, Verizon, Wellpoint Healthcare, Wells Fargo

If your employer does not yet offer a Matching Gift Program, consider encouraging your company to start one to multiply the size of your gift!

Coordinated Giving Campaigns

Coordinated Giving Campaigns are a means by which employees donate to the charities they care about through payroll deduction. Once a year, donors decide which issues/organizations are most important to them and contribute through these campaigns.

Health Brigade is proud to participate in the following area campaigns:

  • United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg — Code #2028
  • United Way Local Government & Schools Campaign — Code #7322
  • Combined Virginia Campaign (CVC) — Code #3396
