Pink Ticket Project

With the support of the Richmond Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Fan Free Clinic (FFC) is pleased to offer its Pink Ticket Project. Entering its second year in 2010, our project is comprised of off-site education and outreach initiatives as well as on-site, free-of-charge breast cancer screening clinics. This project aims to ensure that an increasing number of medically-underserved women throughout greater Richmond have access to timely and culturally-sensitive breast health information, resources and follow-up.

Each year, FFC provides on-site breast cancer screenings and education to approximately 1,500 female patients. We recognize, however, that many other women, for a variety of reasons, may be unable or unlikely to obtain such routine care. Reaching these women with life-saving breast health information and bringing them into a clinic setting for appropriate examination requires greater effort. With support from Komen, FFC has been able to expand its on- and off- site efforts by introducing weekly breast cancer screening clinics as well as building upon our successful outreach activities within Richmond’s more vulnerable neighborhoods.
